KAMINI JAIN.Kamini, a former Canadian Olympic Kayaker, the coach of the winning team at the Worlds in the 2007, is looking to repeat that at Prague. So to gain more experience of racing on a river, she brought her team to Fort Langley on Sunday.It was pretty amazing to watch a team of this caliber.
BLING for FORTified: The new team of oldies (55+) scored a bronze in the Seniors' Cup at Alcan! "Way to Go" said Cap'n Chris.
Then they took a silver in the Rec C Final, & that fighting effort almost put a smile on the face of coach Ben. With so many paddlers new to DB racing, they are extra-thrilled at making their first contribution to the Club's trophy cabinet.

ALCAN provided a thrilling spectacle in the Guts or Glory at the end of the day. Come back to this - your site - but check out Glory Congrats to Ben Lee & Lee McGovern for their 4th & 5th overall, too. Staggering.

World Canoe Day was celebrated by FLCC on Saturday 20th. Besides providing the community with an opportunity to try out dragon boats, voyageurs and kayaks, it was also a good opportunity to mix with people from other parts of the club. We are hoping to grow on this event every year. Besides the people who tried out the boats many more stopped by and picked up brochures and had an opportunity to ask questions.
While this event was officially hosted by the sprint kayakers, the help of the many DBers & Voyageurs was essential - Thank you!
DROP IN KAYAKING: The new season of drop-in kayaking lessons have started on Friday nights from 7-8:30pm some weeks or Saturdays from 10 to 11:30am.

POWER FOR ALL: We are excited to announce that on Saturday, July 4th our club will start this program to provide kayaking for clients with mental and physical disabilities. Our goal is to provide a fun time on the water for clients who could not normally enjoy this sport. Club T –Shirts: Pat Barker has kindly helped the sprint kayak group come up with a club t-shirt design. The youth will be selling them at all of their regattas over the summer as well as to other club members.
